TINY TANKS

Overview

Tiny Tanks is a 2D top-down multiplayer tank battle game built for up to 20 players per session. Players choose a callsign, pick a team, and drop into a compact arena where every second counts and every coin matters. Matches are fast, chaotic, and full of tactical decisions — do you rush a healing zone, drop a mine on the run, or hold your smoke screen for a desperate escape?

Multiplayer

Sessions support up to 20 players organized into five color-coded teams: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, and Echo. Players choose their team in a pre-match staging screen that shows the live roster and available slots.

One player hosts the session directly from their PC — no dedicated server required. Other players join by connecting to the host's address. Networking is built on Unity Netcode for GameObjects, handling state synchronisation, client-side prediction, and authority-based game logic across all connected players.

Engine: Unity 6

Visual Assets (2D sprites, UI elements, environment art): Generated using generative AI image tools.

Particle Effects: A selection of effects from Cartoon FX Remaster FREE by Jean Moreno (JMO Assets), available on the Unity Asset Store. Used for explosions, hit effects, and environmental particles.

Music: Three original tracks (menu, gameplay, game over) generated using AI music tools. Crossfade transitions between states are handled in-engine.

Sound Effects: Sourced and mixed from Pixabay (royalty-free). Includes tank tread ambience, weapon fire, boost activation, smoke deployment, airstrike siren, explosion impacts, and UI feedback sounds.

Fonts: Black Ops One and Share Tech Mono (Google Fonts, SIL Open Font License).
